The 4th District of Texas first became Jason's home in the 1980's when his parents moved the family to Rockwall. Jason and his wife, Lauren, both graduated from Rockwall High School in 1992 and returned to the district to raise their own family after college and law school. Jason has founded and led several small businesses here in the 4th District, while simultaneously serving many roles in the community, church, and non-profit organizations. Jason is a limited government conservative with a lifetime of service to the Republican Party. Jason started young with the founding of the Teenage Republican Club during the Reagan years to serving as a precinct chair, election judge, and as a member of the Executive Committee of the Republican Party of Texas, where he represents 9 counties in northeast Texas, 6 of which are in the 4th Congressional District.
Jason and Lauren made the decision to raise their family here in the 4th District where both kids have attended Rockwall ISD from kindergarten through high school. Their oldest is a sophomore at the University of Arkansas and their youngest plans to follow in her father's footsteps and attend Texas A&M University when she graduates high school next year. Jason and Lauren are very proud of the education and upbringing both they and their kids received right here in the 4th District of Texas.
Like many here in the 4th District, Jason is a proud Fightin' Texas Aggie. In three-and-half-years, Jason graduated from Texas A&M University in 1995 with high honors in Political Science and then went on to earn a law degree with honors from Baylor University in 1999. For over 15 years, Jason has helped lead and grow his family business which employs more than 100 people in Rockwall County. Jason knows first-hand that small businesses are the backbone of America, not big government. He will work to unleash the power of American ingenuity and economic opportunity by removing barriers to innovation, simplifying regulations, and cutting red tape.
John Ratcliffe asked Jason to lead his Texas district operations when he took office in 2015. Since that time, no one has worked closer with John Ratcliffe or our local officials and Republican leaders than Jason and the district team he led. Jason has often said that serving with John Ratcliffe has been "the greatest privilege of my life." Given the opportunity to continue his work would be an incredible duty and honor. If elected to represent the 4th District, you can be confident that Jason's deep roots, experience, and conservative values will ensure that every decision he makes will be on your behalf.
As John Ratcliffe's District Chief of Staff, Jason was selected to serve on several congressional staff delegations to foreign countries where he learned first-hand the importance of international policies and strategic partnerships. With trips to South Korea and Taiwan as examples, Jason better understands the critical role these allies play in protecting U.S. interests in the Pacific region. Furthermore, with two grandfathers who fought in the Pacific Theater during World War II, including the Battle of Iwo Jima, Jason feels a deep responsibility to continuing their legacies and sacrifice by protecting America in this region and from the threats posed by China and North Korea.
Jason has completed several Ironman Triathlons, which consist of a 2.4 mile swim, 112 miles cycling, followed by a 26.2 mile run. Afterwards, Jason likes to eat whatever is in front of him, but otherwise tries to eat healthy most days. In all seriousness, training for and completing these extreme endurance events instill the important values of hard-work, determination, perseverance, and goal accomplishment. Jason will bring those same values to representing the 4th District of Texas.
As a hobby, Jason enjoys racing bicycles and has competed in events across Texas and the United States, typically riding more than 5,000 miles per year...and even winning a couple sprints every now and then. Combined with weight-training, Jason knows that regular exercise is important to maintaining a strong mind and body and staying healthy. It is critical that our congressional representative also be physically and mentally strong to be an effective advocate for the 4th District of Texas.
